This image is of the completed sculpture "Farview Tower - Circle of Vision" created by Norman Andersen and Katherine Schaefer and located in Farview Park in Minneapolis, Minnesota. LED tri-clusters illuminate the hammered copper animals at the top. The yellowish light below is of course from sodium vapor lamps used for general illumination. The artists wanted the contrast of light colors to emphasize the tower's red color and contrast with the eerie cool moonlight quality of the super bright white LEDs reflecting off the blue green patina of the copper. The effect at night is as if the animals are floating above the tower. Click here for larger view. |
