AU12A Auto/Marine LED Driver
For rechargeable batteries that can produce up to 14.4 vdc
 The AU12A LED Driver is designed for use with automotive/ marine and solar lead acid type 12VDC batteries (13.6-14.4 V DC). Most LED fixtures, arrays and boards require a true 12.0VDC power supply to operate properly and will overheat or fail when used with unstable higher voltages like autos and boats which are powered by an alternator which produces AC noise, ripple and unstable surges. Battery voltage changes constantly as a result. The AU12A offers a low cost practical solution via a driver that combines a current restriction with a voltage window comparator to keep a stable 12.0VDC output while maintaining current needs of various types of LED fixtures from 10mA to over 700mA or multiple LED fixtures in parallel. Noise filtration adds a nice touch for long life LED operation. Intended for use with LED products only. The AU12A circuitry and mounting brackets are embedded in a highly insulative epoxy based resin and encapsulated in a UL95-5VA flame retardant ABS plastic barrel housing. The AU12A barrel diameter is .375" by .75" long. 6" color coded leads are provided for easy install with the green/brown leads go to the fixture, the red/black leads go to the power line/supply. |
