The FlareAlert has a battery life of approximately 20 hours in flash mode and approximately 6 hours in steady on mode. The bulb life is approximately 10 years (100,000 hours). Cost to operate is about $0.03 per hour.
The more you use the FlareAlert the more you save. Consider the following example using a six-flare pattern.
| 10 hrs | 25 hrs | 50 hrs | 100 hrs | |||||||
| flares used | total cost | flares used | total cost | flares used | total cost | flares used | total cost | flares used | total cost | |
| Incendiary Flares | 72 | $72 | 240 | $240 | 600 | $600 | 1200 | $1200 | 2400 | $2400 |
| FlareAlert | 6 | $63 | 6 | $63 | 6 | $66 | 6 | $69 | 6 | $78 |
Calculate your savings in a few easy steps.
Step 1: Estimate your average size flare pattern (4, 6, 8 or 10)
Step 2: Estimate the number of 1 hour incidents a unit responds to per year
Step 3: Use the table to calculate your yearly savings per vehicle
Step 4: Use worksheet to calculate your total yearly savings
| Yearly incidents per vehicle | 4 flares | 6 flares | 8 flares | 10 flares |
| 25 | $356 | $534 | $712 | $890 |
| 50 | $754 | $1131 | $1508 | $1885 |
| 75 | $1152 | $1728 | $2304 | $2880 |
| 100 | $1548 | $2322 | $3096 | $3870 |
| 150 | $2344 | $3516 | $4688 | $5860 |
